Stunning Art TV Experience

Design & Build

The Samsung Frame TV looks fantastic out of the box, and its design is a major selling point. I love that it comes with both a wall mount and a stand, offering two ways to view the TV. In my opinion, it shines brightest when wall-mounted. The TV is incredibly thin, making it look like an art frame, which is perfect for displaying art and photography.

The connect box, which connects to the TV via a single discreet wire, is a clever solution, keeping the TV free of clutter. While it would have been nice to have a standard frame included, the clip-on frames are available as an additional purchase. For this review, I opted for the subtle gold frame, which looked great against my light green walls.

Mounting the TV on the wall was surprisingly easy, thanks to the clear instructions provided. I would recommend having an extra pair of hands to help with the process.

Features: TV

The Samsung Frame TV is a QLED TV, offering a quantum dot layer that provides a wide range of colors and an anti-glare, matte display. This results in stunning picture quality, especially when viewing art and photography. The TV is also capable of displaying HDR content, although it’s not the brightest, which can affect the overall picture quality.

User Interface

I found the user interface to be excellent, with two controllers that made navigating the TV and art sections easy and intuitive. The art store is well-organized, with a clear sectioning system, making it simple to find and adjust the art displayed on the TV.

Price

The Frame TV’s price is a major issue. In a highly competitive market, it’s hard to justify the retail price of $1,499 for a 55-inch TV with these specs. The TCL QM851G offers better picture quality and can be found on sale for as low as $899. However, the Frame TV is an art display, and if you can get it in a sale, it’s worth considering.

Should I Buy the Frame TV?

The Samsung Frame TV is a great option for art lovers who want a stylish and functional display for their favorite pieces. With its slim build, excellent design, and array of clip-on frames to choose from, it will look stunning in any home. However, it’s essential to consider the price and whether it’s worth the investment. If you can stomach the potential issues with art aspect ratio and can get it in a sale, the Frame TV is an exceptional TV that’s a lot of fun to have.
