(Reuters) – President Vladimir Putin accepted the sudden resignation on Monday of one among Russia’s longest serving governors who headed the Rostov area that has been affected by Ukrainian drones and the place the Wagner Group forces began a short-lived mutiny.

Putin accepted the resignation of Rostov’s governor Vyacheslav Golubev “at his personal request”, the Kremlin stated in a press release on its web site.
